This privacy notice sets out how The African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) e-learning platform collects and uses information about individuals when they access the platform and why we collect specific personal data. We take your privacy very seriously. In order to provide access to this site, we need to collect and store some personal information about you.

Personal data is collected to allow us to provide you with the e-learning services or for correspondence purposes.

We collect the data that you provide when creating an account on the e-learning platform, such as name and email. We also collect data about your activity on the e-learning site, including any contributions that you make.
How we collect personal data
The African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) elearning platform collects personal data from your interactions with the platform.This includes when accounts are created, request support, register for or participate in an online class, exam, certification, training, webcast or other event; participate in surveys or evaluations, and submit content or posts on the forums.
How is this information used?
This information is only used to provide access to the online courses on this site and for correspondence.
How do we store personal data?
We will process (collect, store and use) the information you provide in a manner compatible with GDPR. We maintain physical, organisational and technical safeguards for all personal data we hold. We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary.
How long is my data stored?
Your personal data is stored as long as your account is active on this site.
Can I export or request deletion of my data?
Yes, in the event you would like to export or delete your data, you can send a request from your profile page under the privacy and Policies section.
Sharing personal data with Third Parties
We do not share with, or receive personal information from, third parties unless it is necessary for the provision of our services and is carried out in accordance with applicable Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and data protection laws.
Marketing
We have no interest in collecting any data beyond that needed to ensure our learning services work for you and will not be used for marketing purposes.
The African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) e-learning platform has been developed using Moodle Learning Management System. Your privacy protection is essential to us, and that is why Moodle LMS has adopted the following pivotal legislation relating to data privacy and protection
EU’s General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”)
UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”)
California Consumer Privacy Act 2018 (“CCPA”).
The African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) and VVOB are also compliant with the Data Protection laws and regulations of the countries they operate in relating to data privacy and security.
The African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) remains committed to building a secure LMS that protects the privacy and security of personal data. This has enabled us to provide you with the tools to ensure that your data, information and operations are secure and protected. Privacy features available in Moodle are by default adopted on The African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) e-learning platform which ensures that the platform is GDPR compliant and adheres to local privacy legislation requirements.
Our legal bases for controlling or processing personal data are:
Article 6.1(a) GDPR (Consent): You provide informed consent to us or have a reasonable expectation that we will use your information for purposes of meant during your study period and that you can withdraw your consent at any time either by putting across a ‘delete my data’ request on the LMS or sending an email to learn@africancenterforschoolleadership.org
Article 6.1(b) GDPR (Contract): Providing our services and fulfilling our obligations to you, usually relating to terms of service or partnership agreement;
Article 6.1(c) GDPR (Legal Obligation): The necessity to meet compliance with our legal obligations; and/or

Your rights when we process your personal data

right to judicial review: in the event that we refuse your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why;
